Summer Challenge (ages 7-11)

Discover the world with Bedrock’s Summer Challenge

Discover the world is inspired by our vocabulary and reading curriculum and consists of six non-fiction topics including Jane Goodall and the Chimpanzees and Journey to the Pole. Children read and complete a topic’s activities each week of the holiday, to keep them engaged throughout the summer!

We have the perfect antidote to a year spent mostly at home. Our summer challenge is suitable for teachers or parents to give to children, who’ll be taken on a trip around the world and:

Avoid holiday boredom
Be inspired by new themes, places and heroes
Learn ambitious new vocabulary and develop a love of reading
Overcome the summer ‘brain drain’ and start the new school year ready to make further progress.

This resource is suitable for:
Teachers to set as a holiday challenge (including as a transition activity to welcome upcoming Year 7)
Teachers to set as work during the last weeks of the summer term
Parents to challenge their children with during the holiday
