Celebrating our 2023/24 winners!
We are thrilled to present the remarkable winning stories from our Bedrock Young Authors competition! This year's theme, "Journeys", invited participants from KS2, KS3 and KS4 to embark on a creative expedition, crafting 200-word stories that explore either fiction or non-fiction writing styles.
The guardians of all winners and runners up have been contacted directly.
Explore the categories
The theme for all categories is "Journeys". Learners can only enter categories for their age bracket.
We have categories for both Fiction and Non-fiction for KS2, KS3 and KS4!
Download our categories poster, with writing prompts, here.
Learners can enter as many times as they like, as long as the stories are different each time. They can even enter both the fiction and non-fiction category for their age bracket.
How to enter
Entries must be submitted by teachers, parents or guardians.
Each learner can enter as many stories as they like to both categories for their age bracket.
Use the website submission form below to send us your stories.
Only one file can be uploaded for each form submitted. If you have multiple entries to submit, compress them into a .zip file to upload them together. Please enter each story through a separate entry form (document), even if they’re written by the same learner.
What can you win?
The winner of each category will have their story* featured in the digital Library on the Bedrock Learning platform, a £250 book voucher for their school and a Bedrock Goodie Bag!
Runners up in each category will receive a £100 book voucher for their school and a Bedrock Goodie Bag.
