A more strategic view of whole-school literacy

Improving literacy isn't about isolated interventions - it requires alignment across leadership, teaching practice, curriculum and assessment.

The Bedrock Literacy Health Check provides a structured evaluation of your current approach, helping you prioritise the changes that will drive the greatest impact.

  • School literacy evaluation

A structured review of your current provision, benchmarked against the components of effective whole-school practice.

  • Guided results review

Discuss your findings with a literacy expert who will help interpret priorities and next steps.

  • Evidence-informed action plan

Leave with clear, practical recommendations designed to support sustainable improvement.

  • Leadership-level insight

Gain the clarity needed to make confident strategic decisions about literacy.

How the Literacy Health Check works

  1. Complete the diagnostic (10 minutes): answer a series of focused questions exploring leadership, curriculum, teaching, inclusion assessment, and instructional practice.
  2. Prepare for your results review: we analyse your responses to build a clear picture of your school's literacy provision.
  3. Guided review with a literacy expert: explore your evaluation in a focus 45-minute session and identify the priorities that will drive meaningful improvement.
  4. Receive your action plan: following the review, we provide practical, evidence-informed recommendations tailored to your setting.
