Release Notes: 3rd July - New Library Titles

What is the Bedrock Library?
Like a real-life library, the Bedrock Library is open to all. Every learner can access this new Tier 2 vocabulary, regardless of which Block of content they are working on.
This library of fiction and non-fiction content sits outside of the main learning Blocks. A wide variety of engaging topics are available, ranging from the life of plants to the life of grime rapper and chef, Big Zuu (and now even more!)
The Library is designed to include challenging language, perfect for stretching even the most able readers. It is accessible, making aspirational vocabulary available to all.
Tier 2 words from other Bedrock blocks are woven throughout the new Library content, so learners can still access that explicit teaching to grow their understanding of the prose as a whole.
Adventure is out there! Our Library is growing…
This new cluster of topics will take your learners on a range of fiction and non-fiction adventures, from the history of Roald Amundsen as the first person to reach the South Pole, to a story of a woman being rescued by an RNLI lifeboat.
As always, the Library texts incorporate difficult vocabulary, both brand new and from other Bedrock blocks, while introducing different cultural capital. This additional content is perfect for stretching any reader, regardless of Block assignment, so long as they’re up for a challenge!
There’s no need to assign anything, as these new topics are now available to your learners in their libraries.
Don’t forget - we want suggestions from you and your learners for future topics, so get in touch if you have any ideas!
