Session two: Building strong literacy foundations in every subject

Evolution, not revolution is a two-part webinar series exploring how schools can strengthen literacy across the curriculum through purposeful, manageable change.

Across the series, Bedrock’s Director of Education, Olivia Sumpter, will be joined by expert guests to examine how the evolving Ofsted Inspection Framework and Curriculum and Assessment Review are reshaping expectations around language, reading, and inclusive teaching.

In session two, we will be considering the role of language and literacy in our curriculum provision across the school. We will explore teaching and learning strategies designed to extend students’ language and vocabulary, establishing strong foundations for communication and understanding in every subject.

Agenda

  • We will explore:
  • - Classroom and curriculum strategies that establish strong foundations in language, reading and writing in every subject
  • and
  • - How the curriculum can be designed to extend pupils’ language and vocabulary and increase reading competency across all subjects
